That kinking will cause damage. Therefore, make sure that your washing machine is not pressed right up against the wall. Besides this, you should also never leave your washing machine running while you are not home. That is just a problem waiting to happen, as parts could break and water could overrun.
2. Have Your Plumbing Units Undergo Routine Maintenance
Homeowners are often given the opt to have some kind of routine maintenance performed on their plumbing units. While there are those homeowners that automatically say yes, many of them don’t want to spend the money so they turn it down.
However, this annual maintenance is so crucial, as it will help lengthen the life of your systems. After all, you want to spot and squash problems before they progress into anything worse. This maintenance will really make a huge difference in how efficient your plumbing units work, while saving you both money and time.
3. Watch Your Water Heater and Refrigerator
During the summer, we tend to go away on vacation. When that happens, we need to turn down the temperature of our water heater as well as raise the temperature of our refrigerator. This will save you both money and energy.
Of course, if you are going to be leaving your house for a long amount of time, you should toss out all of your perishable foods like dairy and meat.
By taking these steps, you will really be helping preserve the life of your plumbing systems, while doing a great deal of good for the environment.
